My training partnership started with Bajaj Energy towards thd end of the year 2014.
As a regular procedure of hiring a new training vendor, I was thrown with a challenge of conducting one actual training session for the corporate team which would be the criteria of selection for their quarterly training for all the 5 sugar cum power units in the interiors of UP.
Being a hospitality trainer, challenges and pressure handling comes naturally and only boosts my confidence. I remember this to be an international selection procedure for even hiring a Training Manager on board.
Well the topic proposed and selected by the Corporate HR team was on Managerial Development Program with 02 days basic capsule training on:
- Leadership
- Communication
- Time Management
- Effective Communication- Body Language & 3 V’s &
- Motivation
I was quite excited and reached 40 mts before. Middle East Hospitality experience taught me an interesting lesson to be an accountable trainer and thus till date even if I am training with the corporates and the HR team is very kind enough to assist with all the stationery support and training facilitation, I always carry spare stationery items, a packet of balloons and candies in my trainer’s magic bag.
The Admin team got into swing seeing me arranging the note pads, pens, training notes and schedule on the designated table for the associates. The Training started and within an hour I was in control of the learning environment, my learner’s expectation and objective from the training and I had attuned myself with them.
I feel this to be an interesting part of the freelance training profession where within few hours the Trainer strikes a balance with their associates and they feel like one team.
The activity which engaged everyone was the balloon activity in the boardroom set-up, Time Management in-tray activity, positive mimicry of their role model leaders, depicting different body language gestures and facial expressions and the wind-up Aerobics session.
My clients will always have Aerobics session as one of the freebie as I m a trained Aerobics Instructor and it takes me just few seconds to motivate my associates to be on the floor and get into action.
Quite motivated by the Nike Taglime, I firmly believe in “Just Do It”
